ABOUT THE TIERRAQUEMADA CELTIBERIAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION: The Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association of Garray, Soria, Spain, aims to spread and promote the Celtiberian and Numantine historical and cultural assets. All performances we carry on, as well as all other activities performed by the Association, are a tribute to the Numantine population that, in defense of their own freedom, stood in front of the almighty Roman Legions, reaching extreme limits when they opted for sacrificing their own lives instead of submitting to Rome and loosing their freedom.

Casarejos, February 21, 2004.- Due to the announcement of the first "Celtiberian Gastronomic Days" at the Rural House “Cabaña Real de Carreteros”, in the village of Casarejos, Soria, a group of "Celtiberians" from the Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association showed up at the restaurant, with no previous notice, "to enjoy the Celtiberian food", while being watched by the amazed other customers who were at the restaurant.

Dressed with Celtiberian clothes and armaments, this group of Numantines decided "to help promoting, with no special interest, another piece of the Celtiberian Culture, as Gastronomy, by setting at these Celtiberian gastronomic day", as those Numantines said.

This Rural House in Casarejos, Soria, had just announced the First Celtiberian Gastronomic Days to a group of journalists, organized with advise from the Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association and Dr. Alfredo Jimeno, Director of the Archaeological Site of Numantia, to create and ellaborate menus. The owner of the restaurant did not get notice of this "celebrity customers visit", but showed grateful for this initiative.

The Tierraquemada Celtiberian Cultural Association considers it is very important to promote Celtiberian identity signals as signals that belong to the province of Soria, provided the historical and cultural significance Numantia had 2,200 years ago, as the "Capital of Celtiberia".

March 1, 2004. – NEXT TUESDAY TELEVISION ESPAÑOLA (SPANISH NATIONAL TV) WILL SHOW A CHAPTER OF THE TV SERIES "MEMORIA DE ESPAÑA" (MEMORY OF SPAIN) STARRED BY THE TIERRAQUEMADA CELTIBERIAN CULTURAL ASSOCIATION. Soria, March 1, 2004 .- Next Tuesday, March 2, at 10 pm, Televisión Española (Spanish National TV) will show the fifth chapter of the new TV Series "Memoria de España", filmed in the village of Garray, Archaeological Site of Numantia, Valonsadero mount and other surrounding locations.

This fifth chapter, focused on the Celtiberian age and the roman occupation of the Iberian peninsula, titled "Hispania, a product of Rome", was filmed with significant participation of members of the Tierraquemada Celtiberian Association, over the past month of September.

A TV team moved to the village of Garray, where they installed hair-dressing, make-up, clothing and coordination resources, and from where, every day during two weeks, "actors" moved to the recording and filming nearby locations.

Pedro Antonio Muñoz and Ana Sotillos were in charge of the staging, casting and performace coordination from the Tierraquemada Association, and worked closely with the team responsible for TV filming.

The Spanish TV team declared having been really satisfied with the outcome, help from the Association and local authorities, as well as with the attitude from thise "sudden" actors, what greatly facilitated all filming tasks.

During those two weeks, more than 100 members of the Tierraquemada Association played more than 220 roles in different scenes of the chapter that, tonight, will be showed to the entire territory of Spain.

Some of the most significant scenes are those about Celtiberians emboscading Roman legions, Celtiberian slaves working, or a Celtiberian warrior, horse-back riding with the head of a Roman Tribune hanging from his hand.

So, on Tuesday evening, soria will be the main actor of History, the same way it was Numantia 22 centuries ago, reviving those important chapters of our history.
