HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT

A consecutive Celtiberian War episode, occurred between 153 and 133 B.C., is performed every year, under technical and staging direction by Pedro Antonio Muñoz, with technical and scientific advice from Dr. Alfredo Jimeno and the Archeological Team of Numantia.

These re-enactment performances are not only focused on war events, armaments and military strategies; they are the ideal way to transfer knowledge about essential aspects of Numantine and Celtiberian world life: domestic environment, organization, social relationships, and religion and funeral rituals, as well as showing issues related to a clash of cultures.

These performances take place every year, during the last Saturday of the month of July, in the village of Garray, Soria, Spain. The performance takes place in the village's streets in the morning, and go on in the evening, at a stage in the Archaeological Site on Numantia.

These performances are carried on by members of the two different Celtiberian and Roman re-enactment sections. Clothes and other elements are made and created by memebers of the association, using original ancient techniques.
